Testimonials:

“I think one thing that distinguishes you from all the other trainers I have met, is that you’re willing to give a part of yourself to the students you teach. And that touches our hearts.”

“I really enjoyed the speaker’s style and his ability to connect to the audience. I feel that he was very genuine and sincere which made the content much easier and more enjoyable to learn”

”To be honest, this is one of the best talks that my batch has had in our three years in RI”

”He is fun, and he is also strong as well. He understood our problems. I'm very touched, and when my friend cried, I almost cried as well. So I am very thankful for Kevin because he bought out our soft sides :)”

”Thank you for making me think more about myself, thanks to you I was able to share my pain with my co form teacher, but I also found out that I have friends who love me, something I rarely feel in all my years of studying”

“The experiences he went through really connected with me as I faced the same struggles. He was not afraid to share about himself and his personal life stories despite how, for lack of a better word, tragic it might be”

Being a social enterprise, we also hire and train speakers with disabilities to give talks.

Their powerful personal stories of resilience make them well placed to inspire students’ hearts. Our speakers are experienced, with well over 100 hours of speaking between them to various audiences (students and working adults). Check out their profiles and a video of them chatting with students here!

Steve Tee

Steve has a condition which caused him to slowly lose his sight. He initially questioned “Why me?” and isolated himself. One day, things changed for him when his physical hunger drove him to weather a storm and buy food. He realised that he lost his hunger for life, and by harnessing that ‘hunger’ (desire) again, he could turn his life around. He went on to get a Bachelor in Computer Security, Network Administration and Design (Double Major). He worked as a Call Centre Supervisor, and was one of the recipients of the Exemplary Employee Award 2014. He also speaks in schools and MNCs as well. In 2021, he accomplished his dream of competing in the Paralympics games (in tandem cycling), where he broke personal and national bests

He shares his story on overcoming societal norms, on dealing with discrimination, and constantly adapting when faced with challenge after challenge. He believes in “seeing the winning side” of life, a testament to his contagious optimism and upbeat spirit. To him, resilience doesn’t mean avoiding challenges, but rather having the courage to face them and come out stronger. A strong message for our youth indeed!

Zahier Bin Samad

Zahier lost his sight at 19 due to a Retinal Detachment. His initial shock and disappointment was severe -he was lost and helpless as he felt he could not provide as the eldest brother.  However, his grit and the presence of strong family support led him to chart a new path. He slowly picked up his passion again – music. He learnt to play multiple musical instruments (e.g, guitar, drum & ukulele) even after he turned blind. He is now married with a young boy, and works hard to provide for this family. He works in a perfumery, plays music in a band, and gives speeches primarily to school students. His story, sincerity and music are a hit with students, who are deeply inspired by his optimism and tenacity.
